a few of my favorite things

September 21st, 2009

hello again all…it has been quite some time since my last post and it’s going to be even longer until my next one…not because i’m lazy, but because i am horribly busy creating all kinds of new stuff for your enjoyment. here’s what i’ve been up too and why i will be MIA for some time:

new random rants web comic i plan on launching sometime before the end of the year, basically it’s a new twist for the doodles of the drunk comic.
two comics of my own creation i’m working on and getting back to work on a freelance project i took a break from.
and finally back to school teaching…which seriously takes up a good healthy chunk of my time.

so, yeah. there you have it…but that’s really not what i’m here to share with you today. i figured seeing as i was going to be super busy and you won’t be getting anymore stuff from me for a while i decided to give you a few things to spend you time doing, that i am currently really enjoying.

1) as for comics that are currently out that i am really enjoying, you should all be reading the new story arc of Doom Patrol
not only is it really good quality Doom Patrol comic book but there is also a double feature story in it that involves one of my favorite super hero groups the METAL MEN in an all new story arch. all and all one of my favorite comics out right now.

2) something that will be taking a huge chunk of my spare time; the most amazing and awesome game right now for a handheld, the unique Scribblenauts. so much fun, if you have a DS you should check it out.

3) and finally, one of my all time favorite web shows, that just last month i believe launched their third season and are already three episodes into it, the wonderful world of THE GUILD. really funny shit, i will warn you, if you’re not a gamer, you may miss a lot of jokes. but all and all a funny web show. check out this awesome music video they did for their show…good shit.

hopefully you all enjoy what i have tossed your way. once i get more time i will drop another line and hopefully have more to show for the work i’ve been doing. have a good one. bye.

COMIC-CON ‘09

July 19th, 2009

hello again all!

so as some of you might know, this weekend is:

WOOOOOO! so for those of you who will be at the convention come say hi to me…no i don’t have table but if you see this:

walking around with a twinkle in his eye as he spends his life savings on a bunch of comic books then stop me and say hello and ask for a sketch. but if your like me and your too lazy to search through the mass crowd that attends this amazing convention and you have time on Saturday and Sunday…then come down to the Cartoon Art Museum’s booth, booth number 1930. which according to the map is right next to Oni Press…freaking sweet!

anyways come down to booth 1930 on Saturday 5pm - 6pm and Sunday 3pm - 4pm and get a sketch from me for their Sketch-A-Thon. sounds pretty entertaining. any how. hope to see some of you out there. have a great week and an even better weekend. more news about new books and up and coming web strips soon…i’ve been a busy little bastard lately. talk to you all later. bye.

WHERE THE MAGIC HAPPENS

June 9th, 2009

hey all, long time again. sorry, been super busy with all my jobs and trying to get stuff done for comic-con…yeah i’ll be there…not at a table or booth but running around…actually that’s not entirely true, i may be helping out at the cartoon art museums booth for a little while…if they let me.

but yeah like I said i’ve been busy lately working on all kinds of stuff. such as new comic projects, a revamp of moe i’ve been working on and it looks rad! and, some of you out there don’t know, I am a part-time after school teacher that works with middle school students…and it’s the end of the year nightmare, we just finished our very first animated short, i’ll be posting that up soon. but for right now just wanted to stop by and say hello…also here are some shots of my work area and me working at it…and a teaser page of the revamped moe….enjoy!

where all the magic happens…and where i sleep

the drawing table/computer desk…i don’t have the luxury of having two separate areas…oh but one day i will and it will be glorious!

the wall of deadlines and character designs…whenever i work on new stuff i like to keep the character designs next to me…this is redesigns of MOE characters.

me posing for a work shot hahahaha!

and here it is…the new page of MOE…there are others but i’m gonna be taking my time getting them just the way i want them to look. if you’b like to take a closer look at it, just click on the image.

alright all, that’s all for now. take care. bye.
